Charles Émile Yriarte was a French writer and draughtsman known for seeing Goya's 'Black Paintings.'
Goya, a biography is an 1867 book by Charles E. Yriarte. It was written in the French language and provided information about the life and work of Francisco de Goya, a Spanish painter who died almost forty years earlier. Yriarte's book is widely referenced because he was one of a few individuals who saw Goya's "black paintings" in person. Yriarte also documented them, as well as their locations.
